The Shelter Me Project is currently working with eight Connecticut shelters/rescues located throughout the state. They are all no-kill non-profits who are doing great work for all types of animals. Please learn a little more below, and if you have a shelter you would like to suggest, please let us know!

Forgotten Felines is a charitable, no-kill, non-profit organization with a mission to stop the proliferation of homeless cats.

Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary is a non-profit organization and sanctuary (the only one in New England) dedicated to finding homes for abandoned ducks and geese.

Ray of Light Farm is a non-profit animal rescue and animal-assisted therapy center committed to helping people make a positive connection with life through our animals.

Greener Pastures Rescue is a 501(c)3 dedicated to obtaining and securing good homes for unwanted, neglected and uncared-for horses throughout Connecticut.

Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a non-profit organization based in Norwalk, Connecticut, dedicated to rescuing homeless animals and placing them in loving new homes.

Meriden Humane Society is a privately run 501(c)3 no-kill animal welfare organization that is supported solely on donations from the wonderful and caring public.

Beech Brook Farm Equine Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit rescue that specializes in gaited horse breeds and "long ears" (donkeys, mules). We rescue, rehome and place our horses in adoptive homes to provide them loving homes for life.

Hop-A-Long Hollow is a 501(c)3 no kill, non-profit organization incorporated in 2004. Our goal is to help “re-home” abandoned and neglected animals into “forever homes” and to educate on proper care for small animals (particularly rabbits).

Tara Farms Rescue, a nonprofit animal sanctuary, is a home for unwanted, neglected and abused horses, cows, pigs, rabbits, chickens, goats, dogs and cats. They are rehabilitated, and when possible, placed
in adoptive homes.
